Be a Volunteer
When someone gets involved in a volunteer work in order to go far towards helping a community or to contribute a cause. One deserve to know the efforts are being appreciated.
Opportunities to volunteer may include being a teacher, mentor, fundraiser, speaker or event staff member. To provide the best experience possible, the organization requires all potential volunteers to fill out an application. Their work involves children and sensitive information; select volunteer positions require a criminal background check and evaluation every three years.
Responsibilities to Volunteers:
- Accept all children for who they are and encourage their goals.
- Allow them to express their thoughts and feelings.
- Ensure a safe environment.
- Show sincerity and commitment.
- Show them that friendship is unconditional.
- Help volunteer feels like they are part of the organization.
- Speak with your Volunteer Coordinator if you have any questions or concerns.
- Connect with other volunteer mentors, share positive experiences and suggestions.
